(Vancouver, BC, January 15, 2019) As Chinese New Year approaches, the exhibition Blue Green Landscape Paintings by Zheng Baizhong will be held by Poly Culture Art Center, which is considered as an important art event in 2019. The exhibition is also part of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver’s 2019 Chinese New Year Celebrations. The exhibition features more than 50 pieces of blue-green landscape paintings by Zheng Baizhong. These works include scrolls and fans and are of various forms and colours, demonstrating profound artistry and depicting the splendid rivers and mountains.
Over the years, Poly Culture Group had always paid close attention to Zheng Baizhong’s artistic achievements and participated in hosting his solo exhibitions in the National Art Museum of China, Poly Art Museum, Shandong Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, and Japan-China Friendship Center. “The coming exhibition will further provide a platform for cultural and artistic exchange to Vancouver and build a bridge of culture and art to deepen the communication and understanding between Chinese and Canadian communities,” said Jiang Yingchun, CEO of Poly Culture Group.
Zheng Baizhong lived in the U.S. for several years, becoming a representative artist of traditional Chinese painting living abroad. “I insist on using the most traditional ink and brush techniques. Meanwhile, with the progress of time, the integration of Eastern and Western cultures, the changes in the living environment, it is natural to add some new pigments, combined with colour processing methods, so that the work keeps abreast of the times.” As Zheng Baizhong said, he not only inherits traditional painting techniques but steps further by incorporating some Western painting elements. Zheng Baizhong’s exploration of Chinese painting reflects his attitude towards life and society, his personality, life experiences, and artistic exploration. His works such as New Chapter of Maritime Silk Road, European Civilization and Ancient Trees are all created while he visited and observed internationally famous cities and natural sceneries.
So far, Zheng Baizhong has held more than 50 solo exhibitions in major cities in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, and Italy. His paintings are collected by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, National Art Museum of China, Zhongnanhai, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Great Hall of the People, Kaohsiung Cultural Center in Taiwan, China Cultural Center in Paris, and museums as well as universities in the U.S. Zheng Baizhong’s works have been recognized by the art market and favoured by collectors and investors.
The exhibition allows more art lovers to know and understand Zheng Baizhong’s works and hopes to show the unique artistic charm of Chinese landscape painting.
