The Music of Bells and Drums, Sounds of Spiritual Rhythm
MAY 14, 2021
Each era has its own “high-light instrument”, and chime bells in the ritual music of the pre-Qin Dynasty always play a vital role in the history of Chinese music. On May 14, the second episode of “The Oriental Voice”: “The Music of Bells and Drums, Sounds of Spiritual Rhythm” invited Feng Guangsheng, the specialist of The China Millennium Monument and the head of Chime Bells Research Institute to lead the audience to approach the treasure of Hubei Provincial Museum – the Chime-bells from the Tomb of Marquis Yi, as well as some important national instruments such as Rongsheng Chime Bells collected in Poly Art Museum, revealing the periods of Chinese beautiful cadence in the long history.
This event is presented by Poly Culture North America, Poly Art Museum, and supported by Upower Financial Services. Also, special thanks to Hubei Provincial Museum, and Dazhong Temple Ancient Bell Museum.
