FEBRUARY 28, 2019
On the morning of February 28, the press conference of the exhibition “French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950” was successfully held in Vancouver Art Gallery. The CEO of Poly Culture North America, Yi Chen, was invited to attend and listen the exhibition guide. Kathleen Bartels, the curator of the Vancouver Art Gallery, thanked Poly Culture North America for their support.
This exhibition features 60 masterworks both of French artists and many others who came to France to learn and practice their craft during a time of prolific growth and change in painting, drawing and sculpture. Employing masterworks both from the Brooklyn Museum and the Vancouver Art Gallery’s own collection, the exhibit traces how rapidly and radically the art world grew and expanded in a very short period of time. Each of the rooms in the exhibit is a “compressed history” of the evolution of art during the century.
On the evening of March 1, the opening reception of exhibition “French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950” was held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, which officially kicked off the 2019 exhibition.
The Consul General of France in Vancouver Philippe Sutter, the Minster of the Department of Canadian Heritage (West Region) Erica Tao, Consuls for Culture Affairs Xiao Hu, and other academic representatives from home and abroad all highly recognized the support of Poly Culture North America.
