Poly Culture North America Wishes You And Your Family Good Fortune And A Happy and Peaceful Dragon Boat Festival
JUNE 14, 2021
The Chinese culture has a long history that is extensive and profound; the fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the traditional Dragon Boat Festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival is one of four traditional Chinese festivals and one of the first pieces of national intangible cultural heritage. There is a custom of eating zongzi (rice dumpling) and wearing colorful rope during the Dragon Boat Festival, which carries the reasonable implication of praying for good luck, family reunion, and peace and prosperity. It is recorded that during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, he attached great importance to the Dragon Boat Festival and arranged a special feast of zongzi for five consecutive days to celebrate. At the recent Spring art auction of Beijing Poly, a magnificent and extremely rare Yangcai ruby-ground with carved open-work “Phoenix Scene” Revolving Vase, Qianlong Period was sold for 266 million yuan, breaking the world auction record for Chinese ceramics.
Poly Culture North America wishes you and your family good fortune and a happy and peaceful Dragon Boat Festival.
