In response to temporary closures of Poly Culture Art Center due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Poly Culture North America has launched a series of VIP exclusive artwork webinars for art lovers. The webinars will be hosted on Friday evenings, beginning May 1, from 8:00 to 8:30 pm PDT. Each session will feature a Poly expert presenting a world-class artwork and answering questions from the audiences.
In the past two weeks, the first session Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi Part I & II were given by Yuting Zhang, the expert from Poly Auction. By describing its technicality, history, and scarcity, he explained how Salvator Mundi became the most expensive painting ever sold at public auction.
During the session, the audiences actively interacted with the expert by posting comments, raised many interesting questions about Salvator Mundi and Leonardo da Vinci. What impressed the audience was that this 450 million US Dollars painting was sold for a mere 45 British Pounds in 1958.
The second session on Chinese ancient calligraphy will start on May 15 and last for four weeks.
