VANCOUVER, B.C. – October 4, 2017 – To promote traditional Chinese culture and celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, Poly Culture Art Center is hosting a grand opening for the Exquisite Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages exhibition as well as The Beauty and Allure of Chinese Painting – Qi Baishi and Wu Changshuo’s ‘Twelve Landscape Screens’ exhibition on October 4th, 2017. The event features an address by Ms. Chen Yi, CEO of Poly Culture North America, as well as a video message by Senator Hu Yuantao of the Senate of Canada.
The Exquisite Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages exhibition is organized by Beijing Poly Art Center and Beijing Renaissance Investment Management Limited, co-organized by Poly Culture Art Center, and with support from Poly Culture North America Investment Corporation Limited. The exhibition features over sixty pieces of jade carving that date from the 1,000-year-old Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and represent some of the most historic and beautiful jade carvings ever seen in Vancouver.
The Beauty and Allure of Chinese Painting – Qi Baishi and Wu Changshuo’s ‘Twelve Landscape Screens exhibition includes works from the Song Dynasty to more contemporary pieces and will feature Zhao Mengfu’s Heart Sutra, Zeng Li’s Ren Shi Post, Wu Changshuo’s Twelve Greenery Screens, Qi Baishi’s Twelve Landscape Screens amongst other master works that reflect the beauty of Chinese culture.
These panels are replicas of the original works that will be offered for sale at auction in China later this year.
Poly Culture North America Investment Corporation Limited (Poly Culture North America) officially opened in late-2015 and is committed to bilateral cultural exchange between China and North America. Poly Culture North America has already organized several events and exhibitions including: the first Vancouver performance by the China Philharmonic Orchestra, The Antiques of the Qianlong Period – A Mirror Reflecting a Chinese emperor’s Attitudes in The Past and The West exhibition, the Treasures of Ancient Chinese Bronzes from Poly Art Museum exhibition, the Selected Bronze Censers of the Ming and Qing Dynasties exhibition along with a series of other art exhibitions rich in Chinese culture and heritage.
The current double exhibition of Exquisite Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages” and The Beauty an Allure of Chinese Painting – Qi Baishi and Wu Changshuo’s ‘Twelve Landscape Screens’ exhibition aims at having Chinese art cross cultural boundaries, as well as celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada’s confederation.

The Exquisite Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages exhibition will be open until December 2nd, 2017 and The Beauty and Allure of Chinese Painting – Qi Baishi an Wu Changshuo’s ‘Twelve Landscape Screens’ exhibition will run until October 12th, 2017. The public is welcome to come and experience the free exhibitions.
